Instead of customers always having to bring their vehicles to a service center, RKAuto enables qualified technicians to come to them via mobile service vans, while also maintaining the option for traditional bay services when specialized equipment is required.

Platform Overview

RKAuto serves two primary user types through unified applications:

For Customers:

  • Register and manage their RK-manufactured vehicles through VIN verification
  • Request services at the dealership bay or via mobile service vans
  • Track service appointments in real-time
  • Join virtual queues when near available mobile service vans
  • Access vehicle-specific service pricing and parts costs

For Technicians:

  • Work flexibly in dealership bays or mobile service vans
  • Manage service appointments and queues
  • Access vehicle-specific service requirements and parts information
  • Navigate to customer locations for mobile services
  • Update appointment status and complete service orders

Key Features

1. User Management

A unified user system supports customers, technicians, and administrators through role-based access control. The same application adapts its interface and capabilities based on user role, providing a seamless experience across all user types.

2. Vehicle Ownership & VIN Verification

Customers register their vehicles using VIN numbers, which are validated against the RK Auto database. Only verified RK-manufactured vehicles can book services through the platform, ensuring parts compatibility and service quality. The system maintains comprehensive vehicle model information including make, model, year, trim, and engine specifications.

3. Service Catalog

The platform offers a comprehensive catalog of automotive services, each defined with:

  • Service type and description
  • Mobile service capability (bay-only vs. mobile-capable)
  • Average service duration
  • Base pricing

Bay-only services require specialized equipment available only at the dealership, while mobile-capable services can be performed at customer locations.

4. Flexible Appointment System

Customers can request appointments for either:

  • Dealership Services: Fixed time and location at the service bay
  • Mobile Services: Flexible scheduling with location-based queue management

Each appointment can include multiple services bundled together, with pricing locked at booking time. The system tracks appointment status from queued through pending, in-progress, and completed.

5. Mobile Service Engine

The platform's mobile service capability is powered by:

  • Service Vans: GPS-tracked mobile service units with real-time location updates
  • Technician Assignment: Flexible technician deployment to bays or mobile vans
  • Proximity-Based Queuing: Customers appear in service queues only when near available vans

How It Works

Customer Journey:

  1. Register and verify vehicle VIN
  2. Select needed services from the catalog
  3. Choose service type: dealership bay or mobile
  4. For mobile services, join queue when near a service van
  5. Receive real-time updates on technician assignment and arrival
  6. Service is completed and payment processed
  7. Receive service completion confirmation and receipt

Technician Journey:

  1. Log in and view assigned service location (bay or van)
  2. Review queued and scheduled appointments
  3. Accept appointments from the queue
  4. For mobile services, navigate to customer location
  5. Perform service work with access to vehicle-specific information
  6. Update appointment status through completion
  7. Process payment and close the order
